do gates in front of your house really do anything against crime. or do they just attract burglars thinking u have nice stuff. we have a huge house. and nice stuff. weve been robbed twice already in the last year. we already got an alarm. but would putting up a gate deter or attract them again?
Whatever you can do to "slow down" their entering your home, then do it. You should have layering in your security such as perimeter fencing, good outdoor lighting, motion sensors, door/window alarms, panic buttons, light timers, etc etc. Don't overlook having good quality and secure door/window locks. And use the locks too!! Often times people forget to lock a door/window and the thief finds it. Sounds like a lot of stuff, but it really isn't. You should also have a thorough security evaluation of your property done by a professional. Good luck to you.

Alarm systems have moved recently far beyond their original scope.
