Although the city of Cleveland is not very large there are 4 very distinctive districts within the city. If you are planning on looking for an apartment, condo, or just a place to get some dinner this will be helpful information in your search!
The first and oldest district in Cleveland is the Historic Warehouse district. This is the area of West 6th West 9th and St Clair. This area is home to some of the best restaurants in Cleveland such as Sushi Rock, Mallorca, Blue Pointe Grille, and XO Prime Steaks. In addition to the high end restaurants there are also many luxury apartments. The warehouses that lined the streets in the 1920's have since been converted into luxury loft living. The Bridgeview at 1300 West 9th Street, the Hat Factory at 1235 West 6th Street, the Bingham at 1278 West 9th Street, and the Grand Arcade at 1300 West 9th street come equipped with original hard wood floors, exposed brick walls, exposed wood beam ceilings, oversized windows, and a loft style of living. Another thriving part of the warehouse district is the exciting night life. The strip of bars on West 6th street, including the Blind pig, Velvet dog, and Tequila Ranch have lines out the doors every weekend. Only a few blocks away is Brown stadium, the rock and roll hall of fame, the great lakes science center, the good time 3, and of course Lake Erie. This district is perfect for the young professional who is looking for a luxury home without the luxury price, a thriving nightlife, and upscale dinning. The Gateway district is home to two of our Cleveland sports teams, the Indians and the Cavaliers. Both Progressive field and Quicken loans arena are located in the heart of the Gateway district. This district centers around the schedules of both teams. The streets of the Gateway district are lined with pubs that supply food and beverages to sports goers year round. These pubs include the Boneyard, Harry Buffalo, Flannery's Pub, the Clevelander, and the Thirsty Parrot. A few of the apartments available in the Gateway district are Carter Manor at 1012 Prospect, Huron Square Apartments 1001 Huron Ave, and the Osborn Building at 1001 Huron Ave. This district is perfect for the Cleveland sports fan who is either at the game or watching the game in a bar, they don't mind a little post game noise and traffic, and the city view they want in there window is Friday night fireworks at progressive field. The up and coming district in Cleveland is the East Fourth Neighborhood. This district is home to four separate rental buildings the Buckeye located above Flannery's Pub, the Commercial, the Windsor, and the Fredericks located above Saigon restaurant. Also located on this street are upscale restaurants and entertainment. The street includes Lola bistro Michael Symons restaurant, the Wonder bar, Zocalo, and Pickwick & Frolic. The entertainment on this street is endless. The corner alley is an upscale bowling alley with a full bar and kitchen. House of Blues offers an array of concerts through out the year. Hilarities comedy club has shows through the week including dinner theater, and if that isn't enough progressive field and Quicken loans arena are right across the street. This district is for someone who loves the city and everything that comes with it; the noise, the traffic, the people, the excitement. The final district in Cleveland is the Theater district. This district is home to the world class Playhouse square. There are 4 theaters that help to make up playhouse square; the Ohio, State, Allen, and Palace theaters. Apartments located in the theater district have less excitement and commotion than the three previous districts. These apartments are Statler Arms 1127 Euclid Ave, Reserve Square 1701 East 12th Street, Euclid Ave Lofts 1900 Euclid Ave, and WT Grant Lofts 222 Euclid Ave. In the theater district there is always a free concert or show somewhere. Through out the summer Star plaza becomes a free concert everyday during lunch. The restaurants in the theater district are more low key, but great places to pick up lunch; Bricco, the A Café, and the Hanna Restaurant are all open for lunch. The Theater district is the fine arts side of the city, it is an area meant for people who appreciate a good show, a good cup of coffee, and a free concert under a tree.
